Because Father’s Day is in June, and my birthday is on 6/4, I thought that it might be less stressful if we celebrated both of them on one day. However, due to conflicting schedules and prior commitments, that didn’t happen and this was truly my month!
On June 4th, my actual birthday, Colleen and I went to El Torito Grill in Irvine.
Colleen and I steamed up some King Crab Legs on Saturday, 6/7. No real reason other than I needed to spend some of my Birthday money that Staco gave me.
John came to celebrate my birthday on Sunday, 6/8 because he couldn’t make it on Fathers day due to a wedding. I made Fajitas on the BBQ.
Carolynne, Colleen and I went to Rose Canyon Cantina on Saturday the 14th. Michael and Dustin were in Palm Springs.
Then on Father’s Day, 6/15, we stayed home and barbecued up some hamburgers.
And finally, we all got together on Sunday the 22nd for Carnitas, Chile Verde, and other things that you can make with a 14lb Pork Shoulder. Carolynne picked up my favorite Chocolate Chip Ice Cream from Alta Dena’s Dairy and Colleen made a Chocolate Ganache cake. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any pictures except for the big pan of Roasted Pork.
