What better way to welcome in what should have been a epic storm than the top floor of a hotel sitting right on the beach. We got there several hours before it was due to hit, grabbed a glass of wine and went out to the balcony. The Doppler radar app on our iPhones gave us this image which promised that we wouldn’t be disappointed.
However, at 2:00 am, we went to bed with only a little drizzle and no wind whatsoever.
Things were looking up a little in the morning, but still no real rain! Just a little wind.
As it turned out, most of the severe weather didn’t appear until the system was inland. However, according to our cat Charlie, if we had stayed home we would have witnessed about 3-4 inches as well as thunder and lightning.
Oh well, we had a great time in the Village. Dinner and Margaritas at the Norte Restaurant were exceptional, and the Daily News, Hennessey’s and Coyote Bar and Grill finished off the weekend.
We also finished up the final 5 episodes of “American Horror Story: Asylum” while we were digesting all that good stuff.
